This checklist defines McNary Wildlife Nature Area as the area in Oregon from one-half mile above McNary Dam to the freeway bridge, 2.5 miles below the dam. The southern border is the end of the Corps of Engineers property. The bird list includes those that are normally heard only, such as rails. The list also includes birds that fly over the area, but do not land, such as cranes.)
